NIC Teaming with Windows 2000
I am deploying an LXr8000 Netserver with dual HP 10/100TX PCI LAN Adapters. Is
NIC teaming supported under Windows 2000? If so, where can I find drivers. If
not, do you anticipate teaming support from HP or Microsoft in the near future?
Thanks,
Scott W. Hinsley, MCSE, MCT

Re: NIC Teaming with Windows 2000
Hello Scott,
You didn't mention whose NIC you are using but I will assume it is the HP
D5013. The first release of the W2K driver for the D5013 will not support
adapter teaming. HP is working on the driver that will support adapter teaming
and it should be available very soon.
This is documented in the Windows 2000 Installation Guide for NetServers. I
will include the link to the guide for you because it contains a lot of useful
information, including known problems, regarding NetServers and Windows 2000.
The answer to your question about adpater teaming is on page 22/23 in the FAQ
section.
Keep checking the HP website for the updated driver for your NIC. It will be
available soon.
Regards,
Jamie Hughes
