hi,

Assuming you are using an Oracle Database.

the most used and popular dba tool nowadays comes from Oracle itself. Named: Oracle Enterprise Manager, OEM for short. The advantage with OEM is that you can also run it on a Browser!

Otherwise, there is TOAD (unfortunately not free) which is a great tool.

BTW, please note, our database is
ORACLE ver 8.1.7.4 on HP-UX 11.11
