Network driver problem
I checked the driver loaded using lsmod but i didn't find that tg3 is loaded.
I tried to intall the bcm5700 driver(NIC is broadcom) i got this message:
"the module u are trying to load (bcm5700.o)
is compiled with a gcc version2 compiler while the kernel u are running is compiled with a gec version3 compiler.
This is know to not work"
First how to load the driver tg3, and second why the bcm5700 driver doesn't work? and thanks in advance.

Re: Network driver problem
The bcm5700 driver has been problematic.
To help, Need to know your kernel version and which update of RH3 you are using.
Also, need to know what kind of server hardware you have.
HP has a good set of bcm5700 and tg3 drivers for their server line, but they only support certain versions of RH Linux, not all.

Re: Network driver problem
I went to the Broadcomm site, downloaded the 5700 driver and installed that. Modified the /etc/modules.conf file to reflect the change, and I was getting 100mbs with no problems.
All the directions were on the Broadcomm site. What is needed, what to do, how to load the module, etc...

Re: Network driver problem
Ensure that you check all pre-requisites to install the module.
