New ITRC Forums Categories Created!
As part of the migration of the Compaq Support Forum discussions to the ITRC Forums, new thread categories have been created. You may have noticed them, but following is a list of newly created discussion areas (Family-Category) intended specifically for Compaq-related product:
Servers-Proliant
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,264,00.html
Storage-Proliant Storage Systems
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,265,00.html
Management Software-Insight Mgr., SmartStart, Remote Insight
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,266,00.html
Workstations (hp visualize)-Workstations: EVO, Professional
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,267,00.html
Related discussions from the Compaq forums will move into the above new categories in about a week. However, these new areas are open for new threads now!
In addition, applicable Compaq discussion threads will move to the following existing ITRC Forums areas. Threads will appear in the list based on their last datestamp:
Storage-Disk Arrays
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,195,00.html
Storage-Disk
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,194,00.html
Storage-Tape Libraries & Drives
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,198,00.html
Linux-General
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,15,00.html
Microsoft-General
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,10,00.html
Management Software-General
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,13,00.html
Finally, a new discussion family has been created called "networking" with two new categories:
communications, wireless
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,270,00.html
switches, hubs, modems
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/CategoryHome/1,,269,00.html
Compaq discussions will move into the above networking areas, but these new categories are definitely open to networking discussions related to any products.
Again, please welcome the new members who were participating in what was previously the Compaq Support Forums ... and if you have Compaq product expertise, add the new categories to your list of areas to peruse!
Best Regards,
Dan

Re: New ITRC Forums Categories Created!
Are there any plans to create Tru64 forums on the ITRC website as well?

Re: New ITRC Forums Categories Created!
I second the view of the other, a tru-64 forum would be really useful.

Re: New ITRC Forums Categories Created!
actually I would like to see "operating systems" as the *family* and below there (alphabetically):
- AIX # ever heard about it?
- HP-UX # of course ;-)
- Linux # don't we all have a Linux box somewhere?
- OpenVMS # in case anyone still uses it?
- Solaris # not only NNM and Solaris, I guess...
- Tru64 # abviously
- Windows # dito
And how about "cross-linking" the families? Like a sub-family "security" in every main family, but all those linked together in to one main "security" family!
FWIW,
Wodisch
