I don't know HPUX at all but I know once I install a new NIC card in Solaris, I need to perform a reconfiguration boot with the "boot -r" command. What's the equivalent in HPUX?

Solution
Hi,
If you installed NIC, you have to install 100BT S/W.
if V class, B5509BA(100BT/9000 PCI)
if N class and 4 port PCI card, A5506A(PCI 4 PORT 100BASE-T/9000)
if K class, J2759BA(HP-PB 100Base-T/9000)
These products are in Application CD.
To install the product, use swinstall command.
Then, server will reboot automatically.
hope this helps.

Re: New NIC card with HPUX 11.0
Hi Sarah,
There is no 'boot -r' equivalent on HP-UX.
At boot time, system will scan all hardware automatically.
If you want to force it manually, you may use 'ioscan'. Have a look at the manual for all available options.
As is as been said previously, you'll have to install some software for your NIC card.
Mount the Applications CDROM and start 'swinstall', select the right entry for your system, mark it for installation and go...
swinstall will prompt you for a reboot once software is installed.
Best regards,
Dan
