OEM in a ServiceGuard environment...

Hi All,

We have a cluster with 2 physical nodes. We have 1 operational database.

We have a failoverpackage called EXPPRD from where the database-environment will be switched from one node to another when failover. We refer only to EXPPRD

Everything works fine except the OEM manager with it's backup mechanism!
When I discover node with EXPPRD it comes with "Discovery failed: VNI-4009: Cannot contact agent on the node"
In our opinion EXPPRD must be available within OEM.(sometimes pointing to our primary node and after faillover to our secondary node)
How can we solve this?

Thanks,
Ron Sahertian

Re: OEM in a ServiceGuard environment...

IS OEM pointing to the relocatable hostname (or IP address) or is it configured to point ot the hostname (or IP) of the physical nodes where the packages reside?

Re: OEM in a ServiceGuard environment...

Ron,

Doesn't OEM use the Oracle Intelligent Agent to communicate with the database? The agent has to be specially configured in a cluster. If you have access to metalink, see Oracle Doc ID 189401.1

Re: OEM in a ServiceGuard environment...

Is OEM covered in the configuration for the EXPPRD package failover. If not, you may need to go through the configuration file and make sure OEM is restarted on the failover node.

Sounds like a user configuration issue.

Hi Gary,

I think you mean EXPPRD instead of OEM??

Thanks,
