Re: OMNIBACK and Oracle integration
If you want to back up the edatabase while it is running, you need to place the tables into hot backup mode. Once that is done, you can backup and restore with omniback and have confidence that your data can be restored.

Re: OMNIBACK and Oracle integration
backups with EBU. I guess my question is can I use my current version of Omniback to back up both Oracle 8.1.5 databases and 7.3.4
databases with Omnibacks Oracle integratrion?
Is there a version of OMNIBACK that supports
integration with Oracle backup utilities EBU and RMAN?Since EBU goes away with Oracle 8.x Omniback must integrate with RMAN.

Re: OMNIBACK and Oracle integration
OB II 3.1 supports Oracle 7.3.4 (EBU 2.2), 8.0.X and 8.1.5 (RMAN)on UX 11.X only.
OBII 3.1 supports 7.3.4 (EBU 2.2) and 8.0.X (RMAN)on 10.20.
You can confirm this in the Support Matrix
found at:
http://www.openview.hp.com/products/omnibackmixed/system/
or attached PDF.
OBII 3.5 will also support it but I have not looked at it yet.
