Omnibook XT1500 -- Radeon 7500

Hello,
I'm trying to install Linux on my Omnibook, but Mandrake doesn't want to recognise my graphical card (Radeon Mobility 7500). After some try, I get either a black screen, or a server crash. It might be a IRQ problem, but actually I don't know... Did anyone succed in this operation?? Do you know if it's possible to install Linux on this machine? Should I try whith another LinuxDistribution?
