OpenMail v7.0 and Outlook 2000 address books

Getting this error message (environment described at bottom of msg):

An error has occurred. UAL Network Error: Failed to send data. The connection may have been lost. Software caused connection reset.
Connection type: Windows sockets.

I'm trying to get a server up and running for pre-rollout purposes. Any ideas?

environment:
Outlook 2000 (no service packs)
Windows 2000 pro (no service packs)
Linux 7.0 (no patches)
OpenMail 7.0 (no patches)
MAPI provider x54005 (download file name)
You know it's going to be a bad day when.....

What were you doing at the time ?

Does the OpenMail server event logs show any problems at the time you got the error ?

If you have a MAPI provider version of x54005, that is a non-production version, i.e. Beta software.

Do you get the error when you use a released version ?

You still haven't described what action you were performing at the time.

An errors-only MAPI trace does not indicate where the problem is occurring as those errors are fairly generic.

For a decent MAPI trace, when you log on there is a "Support" tab. You need to enable MAPI entry and exit points + commentary for the Message Store provider.
