Opinions on rp5470

I'm in the process of ordering a new server that will become our Oracle production server. I am looking at the rp5470. Attached is the configuration I am looking at, minus all the memory. Would you add/change anything as I am unfamiliar with the new servers. Thanks.
Any Ideas?

Have you looked at remarketed hardware - from HP?

You should also look at 11i.

Re: Opinions on rp5470

Not knowing what you want to do with your box, I would say your are short on memory (only 1GB), and you would want to get 2 more power supplies, you have 3 slots and only have 1 on order. Everything else looks reasonable.

Re: Opinions on rp5470

Hi Gerry:

I'd add a second lan card and Auto Port Aggregation software for performance and for high-availability.

Re: Opinions on rp5470

Gerry,

Not knowing your application requirements, it's hard to say anything definitive, but I would be concerned that the rp5470 is limited to only 4 processors. You might want to look at a rp7400 or a used N-class that can go up to 8 processors.

Re: Opinions on rp5470

Hello,

You have a mistake.

A5159A is a combo dual port LVD dual port 10/100 LAN. A5150A is a dual-port LVD dual port SCSI card.

Hi (again) Gerry:

Have a look here ("Using HP Auto Port Aggregation (APA): HP Systems Networking") for an overview and details:

Re: Opinions on rp5470

Gerry,

It allows you to use multiple lan ports acting as one:
