Opteron Linux Enterprise ver 4 - Losing System Date&Time

When booting the system the date and time appear to be ok, however over a weekend the OP system time is out by 5 days, the BIOS time looks to still be ok.
Any ideas?

Re: Opteron Linux Enterprise ver 4 - Losing System Date&Time

thats very weird and first time i am hearing such a problem :) are you having any NTP configuration on the system ? where it connects to any Network Time Protocol server for time information ?

Then the problem could be with that NTP server. check whether any process is running by name 'ntpd' if so stop it and remove it from executing during reboot. or configure the NTP server properly.

Hope this helps,
