Oracle 10G on RX4640 - software issue

Me again!

I'm trying to help the DBA resolve an issue we have. Currently trying to install Oracle 10G on HP-UX 11.23 with SG & RAC extentions 11.16.

We have managed to get the CRS installed and working well, but we can't get the GSD to startup. Had a look through several log files and trace files, but nothing seems to give me an error message that I can work on i.e. Why did it fail? I have seen an CRS-0215 error messge though when trying to start GSD.

Has anybody got any ideas on this?

Regards

Mark

hi,

please have a look at metalink note: 264847.1 with subject "How to Configure Virtual IPs for 10g RAC"

hope this helps!

Mark,

what command do you use and any other error messages along with CRS-215 ?

In general, its important not to bypass any of the warnings the oracle installer gives you. Its possible to tell it to ignore certain settings, but never a good idea to actually do it.

I would take a look at the actaul install log for clues. There may be some very large hints in there.

Re: Oracle 10G on RX4640 - software issue

What do you mean by

"we can't get the GSD to startup." ?

does (as oracle):

'srvctl status nodeapps -n nodeXX'

show that GSD is down?
