Oracle 10g R2 on HP-UX 11i v3

Just wondering if anyone is running Oracle 10g R2 on HP-UX 11.31.

If yes, what has been your experience?

In my case we are building a new Oracle server and I'm wondering if I should install HP-UX 11i V3 for the supposed IO performance enhancements, or if I should stick with the "tried and true" 11i V2.

Any opinion or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

P.S. The server is a PA-RISC machine, not Itanium.

Hi,

You can do run Oracle 10g Rel2 on 11iV3 PA-RISC platform. The oracle certificate is available. Do check on patches from both metalink and HP-UX. Check if the patch PHKL_37185
dependent patches PHKL_36054 PHKL_36261

is required for your environment.

I've 2 servers running such envkironment.

Though the 10gr2 docs is not available for 11iv3, you can follow the instruction provided for 11iv2.

from OS POV(point of view) you need more concentration on performance tuning. And proper latest patching.
