What are the major difference between Oracle 10g Streaming and Oracle 10g RAC ?

10g streaming is a type of conditional replication to cross platform.

10g RAC is High Availability failover instances.

10g RAC is a high availability solution that lets you run the database on shared storage between two systems to increase reliability and availability.

Streaming is a replication technology, useful in maintaining a constant backup of the system.

I heard that Oracle 10g when configured for 2 data center has latency issue. Why people go for this feature ?
