Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 is working fine with HP UX 11.11 since last one year but Oracle recomend to upgrad it to Oracle 8.1.7.4.0 .

We have absolutely no problems, but Oracle suggests to upgrade it to 8174.

Yes, we're doing it.

Best to get it patched up to 8.1.7.4.0, especially if you're migrating a database with 32 bit word size to 64 bit
