Oracle 8.1.7 on Red Hat 7.1

Hi all,

Does anyone installed Oracle 8.1.7 on Linux Red Hat 7.1?
When i try this, the following message is displayed:
Initializing Java Virtual Machine from ../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.1.8/DataFiles/Expanded/linux/bin/jre. Please wait...

What is here wrong?
Bye

Oracle 8.1.7 is not certified on RedHat 7.1. I managed to get it installed following the directions at http://www.greenpeace.org/~bruno/oracle.html

There are a few threads on metalink as well

Hi there.
Check the certification matrix for Linux and Oracle in Oracle Metalink. Look for this document :

Doc ID: Note:68857.1
