Oracle 9.0.1.4 RAC problem
We are using Oracle 9.0.1.4 RAC with 2 instances now. However, we often encounter a RAC bug "waiting for clusterware split-brain resolution". Can anyone explain what it does mean? Does Oracle 9.2.0.X fix this issue completely?
Thanks for any comments.

Re: Oracle 9.0.1.4 RAC problem
Both nodes of the cluster think they are primary.
This is probably a communications problem between nodes. If it was Serviceguard, I'd say check the heartbeat lan.
I don't think an upgrade will help.

Are you on HP-UX or Tru64?

Re: Oracle 9.0.1.4 RAC problem
Most likely Oracle is configured with very short timeouts. The default value is 5 minutes.

Re: Oracle 9.0.1.4 RAC problem
There's lot of bugs related to this error. You should search RSBMS patches related to this issue and your OS.
