Have you looked into Veritas Database Edition/ Advanced Cluster for Oracle 9i RAC.

Whilst a bit pricey it seems to be the only current solution for what you propose.

Veritas DB Edition is the only option with their clustered file system. This is not as good for performance as raw, because only 1 node can write, the other nodes (slaves) must ship their IOs to the node that can write (master). When the master fails a slave becomes master. This sounds worse than the cons of using raw.
