Oracle Backup to tape drive

hi all
I have rp7420 server with hp-ux 11iv1 And Oracle 10g installed, i want to backup the database to tape drive "Ultrium 215 Removable tape drive" i have more than one user in the oracle i want the backup for all this users i dont know any thing about the backup
i need help please?

A good starting point would be to run the OEM database control and configure your media manager and secure backup (if you want).

Shalom,

You should use one of two general methods.

1) Do a database checkpoint and go to disk with the backup, then tape later.

2) Use a professional grade backup product like Data Protector from HP or veritas netbackup or Legato to go direct to tape.
