Oracle Database corrutps using HP Storageworks Mirroing replication
Hi,
I ma using HP Storageworks mirroring software for mirroring oracle databse 9.0
I have stopped the replication.
I have setup a schedule to m run verification with remirror file
First time the database at the remote site worked fine, second time the database services is not starting up and the DB is unaccessible
Pls suggest whether Im using the correct way to replicate the oracle database and if yes than what are the possible reasons of error
Thanks,
Haris

Re: Oracle Database corrutps using HP Storageworks Mirroing replication
We run EMC technology for disk/storage here, but I'm guessing maybe some of the principles might be the same. So without talking syntax or commands, might wonder if you followed similar steps:
1. First we put our Oracle instance into hotbackup mode -or- stop the Oracle instance.
2. Now attach all the mirror disk(s) to the primary disks & sync them.
3. Once all disks are sync'd, them split the mirror disk(s) back off.
4. Take your Oracle database either out of hotbackup mode -or- restart it (which option you picked)
5. Now mount the mirrored disk on a separate server and check them out and see you can bring up that database.
Not sure if this is applicable for your software, but figured I'd offer something to consider.
Rgrds,
Rita
