Oracle Patches for 11.31

Hi Guys,

We're installing an Oracle 10gR2 version on an RX3600 with an HPUX v11.31 OS.

We were following an 11.23 install doc for 10gR2, bec it was the only available doc we found at oracle's OTN site.

When I tried looking for the patches described as oracle required, there were lots of it which are present in 11.23 which were did not have corresponding 11.31 patch versions.

For example:
I did not find any 11.31 patch versions for:
- PHCO_32426: Reboot(1M) cumulative patch - there are still about 4 more patches of the same status

While I did find an 11.31 patch version for:
- PHSS_33276: 11.23 Math Library Cumulative Patch - which is PHSS_36351

Question:

Is it safe enough to assume the we are covered as far as patches are concerned since we have installed the latest 11.31 standard patch bundles and did several patch installations on top of the base OS install?

What about those patches which oracle required which did not have corresponding 11.31 versions?

In my opinion, yes.

Like most third-parties, Oracle's view of what constitutes the most current patches is rarely current. Too, some 11.23 patches will have been rolled into the 11.31 release stream and/or will simply not be applicable.

hi,

and metalink doc DocID:169706.1 also help.

To install the oracle 10gR2 on the 11.31 (Itanium), it need to have the patch PHKL_37185.

and need to use the "-ignoreSysPrereqs" option with runInstaller to ignore the system pre-requisite test.
