Re: Oracle RAC Package
If you finish configure RAC on top of MC/Service Guard OPS (MC/Lockmanager).
and you can connect to instance.
your task is finish.
RAC is not package switch-over it's load blancing.

Re: Oracle RAC Package
With RAC each instance which is accessing the same database will have a different instance name right?. In that case clients will be connecting to only one instance at a time. If that particular instance goes down will the clients be able to connect to the other instance without reconnecting / reconfiguring? If so how it can be done?
Thanks

SolutionNot automaticlly. The clients can choose to connect to a single instance (OPSA, OPSB, etc) or connect to a tns entry set for load balancing and TAF (Transaction Failover).
The following is a link to my previous reply on this issue (so I dont have to cut and paste it again):

Re: Oracle RAC Package
We are also using 9i RAC DB Release 1 on HP-UX 11i with MC Service guard configured.
So far have any of you facing any issue on you RAC database such as ora-600 [2103], ORA-29740 & listener hang problem?
We have this issue over quit a long period, and there was no solution as yet in our Oracle TARs.
Would you mind us asking what your side have done to fix this 'bug'?
Thanks & regards,
Chuah

Re: Oracle RAC Package
You should open a new entry on the forum so you have control over setting points for it.
