Oracle Says No To Itanium

Oracle announced on March 2011 that they stopped all software development on Itanium platform.

Intel management made it clear that their strategic focus is on their x86 microprocessor and that Itanium was nearing the end of its life.

How it affects the carrier future of HP UX engineers?

I sincerely invite all experts to comments on this.

Again? Does this mean that your search
didn't find any of the old threads on this
topic, or that you didn't _try_ to find them?

Dear Yash,
it is not horible as you are thinking because the product never die, just it change its shape.
and the HP-UX is not a small product or its owner is not in small entity, HP may create its own DB which will use on HP-UX.
