Oracle & Informix on same server

We are considering putting Informix and Oracle databases on the same system (N4000). Are you aware of any problems and/or drawbacks to this?

Thanks!

Re: Oracle & Informix on same server

Hi Toni!
I'm not aware of any problems, and I also had those two DBs together.
Although, I advise you to change the kernel parameters dbc_max_pct and dbc_min_pct to 10 and 5 respectively. This will free your system's memory to be used by the DBs.
Don't forget the other kernel parameters relating semaphores, such as semmns, semmnu,...
good luck.

Re: Oracle & Informix on same server

Pedro,

Thanks for the response. I will note your recommendations and review the kernel parms if & when this happens.

Again, thanks for your input.
