Oracle and file cache

Hi,
Has anyone seen any recommendations about file cache size for HP-UX and Oracle 8. Is there any document from HP avialable.

Assuming from the question you are using the file system as oppose to raw access, you might want to consider OnlineJFS and the appropriate mount options (mincache=direct), and thus avoid the double buffering by Oracle and the buffer cache. See attached.

Leif,

I am assuming you are talking about the dbc_min_pct and dbc_max_pct. Normally we keep max in the 5-7 range, and the min in the 3-5 range.
