Oracle database installation hangs at 78%

Hi

has anyone encountered this before?

when installing the database server, it hangs at the dbca stage and at 78%. There is no error messages shown.

Hi

Have made the required changes to the kernel according to the installation manual.

For the patches PHSS_29658 and PHSS_29960, it shows that the base is not installed therefore not required.

All steps are based on the quick installation guide attached.

If you have an account on metalink check note ID: 334563.1 and download the validate script. this script checks the whole system for the oracle installation

have downloaded the validate check and ran it.

the only errors i got are for ExtjobOK user and the patches.

user should be created when root.sh file is ran whereas the patches can be ignored?

which OS and oracle version have you?

here an article which patches are required for what. note ID: 169706.1

OS: 11.23 v2 Itanium
Oracle: 10.1.0.2.0

have already verified, the above should be ok.

so far, only errors i got is the patches.
this has been the case when installing application server but it still manages to install and works properly.

can you verify that there are no other screens open in the background and which is waiting for an input.
