Oracle dbca slow start.
We have a strange behaviour on one of our Oracle servers. Starting the Oracle administration tool (dbca) is very slow, somtimes up to 15 minutes. There are no error messages and nothing in the log files. The server is an rx2660, HP-UX 11.23, Oracle 10.2. I have installed all recommended patches and all parameters is set to Oracle recommendations.
I suspect som kind of Java problem but I have run out of ideas.
Any suggestions ?

Re: Oracle dbca slow start.
if you can confirm that launching all of:
- dbca
- emca
- netca
- oidca
it must be problem related to the OS.
(what about when you run runInstaller?)
Can you try to use glance to further analyse where the process is "blocking"?
Also, try to export the DISPLAY to the another machine and retry dbca so that we can isolate the problem....
Hope this helps!
kind regards

Re: Oracle dbca slow start.
Have you special port configuration in the server, specially port 2450?
Did you tried to trace it?

Re: Oracle dbca slow start.
You was correct about that it was a OS-related problem.
Found the solution on Oracle Metalink (dok. id. Note:362092.1).
