Oracle internet directory error

Hi,
Can anyone help me on Oracle internet diretory server setup?
I have installed the product on UX11.0. Oracle database server is working fine on the same server. I'm using the same SID for both. When I try to start oidmon, it comes out with error
Error Connecting to Database:-1017
Could not Connect to the Database.

Any ideas??

I'm curious - is your exact error ora_01017??

If it is than it's complaining about it's an invalid username or password attempt while trying to connect to Oracle. The username/password must be the same as was specified in the GRANT CONNECT statement.
