Oracle8i Release 3 (8.1.7) with HP-UX 11.i

I am running a HP C3750 machine with
Version of HP-UX : dmv0335 B.11.00 U 9000/785 2005689988 unlimited-user license
With
Version of Oracle: Oracle8i Release 3 (8.1.7)

Need to replace - Can only go to HP C8000 as the other C Class machine will be EOL Dec 2005.
The C8000 has 11i (11.11) on it.

Will the current Oracle8i Release 3 (8.1.7) run/work on this release of HP-UX?

Yes.

You may want to patch it to 8.1.7.4

This release of Oracle is available but no longer supported by Oracle.

You need generous memory and to max out shmmax settings.

Thanks Steven - short and to the point. Great.

Alexander - Would love to - needs App Upgrade/ Oracle Upgrade / Machine Upgrade.
Currently under budget restraints . So I have put this ALL forward to Management.

This, Machine Only Upgrade, would be the last resort.
