Re: Oracle9.0.1 on hpux11.0 installation?
After remount the CD with the following commmand: /usr/sbin/pfs_mount /SD_CDROM,
the result is the same:
a500-1:/SD_CDROM 0 0 0 0% /SD_CDROM
total 20

Then I stated the ./runInstaller scipt, this time, the jave GUI can started normally. Now I followed the structions, when doing the 17%, the installation paused with the following message:
Error in writing to file /opt/oracle/oui/ewt.jar...
From the help of topic windows, it seems the disk space related problem, but I checked the disk space, there are enough sapce left...how can I do now?
Thanks a lot!

Re: Oracle9.0.1 on hpux11.0 installation?
During the installtion, the systen wanted me to insert the #2 CD to the driver. I pushed the button of the driver and try to get out the #1 CD, but I can not. So I check the system, I found the following:
a500-1:/SD_CDROM 0 0 0 0% /SD_CDROM
I try to use the pfs_umount /SD_CDROM to umount the #1 CD, but the following message was displayed:
# pwd
/
# pfs_umount /SD_CDROM
umount: /SD_CDROM: Device busy
#
How can I do now? Thanks a lot!

Re: Oracle9.0.1 on hpux11.0 installation?
I would recommend you exit the installation and clean up the logs and files.
Mount the CD's all three of them one after the other, copy the contents on to a file system and then install form there. During the installation, when it propmts for the disk-2, disk-3 files location you can specify the directory.

Re: Oracle9.0.1 on hpux11.0 installation?
The media change related problem had been solved. I use the following command:
fuser -ku /SD_CDROM
Then, pfs_umount /SD_CDROM, insert the #2,
pfs_mount /SD_CDROM, now the installtion is
going on...
Thanks for your answering letter...Nice day and happy new year..

Re: Oracle9.0.1 on hpux11.0 installation?
If you have adequate free space on a file system, i would always recommend that you copy the contents of the CD-ROM there and install it from the filesystem. It will generally be faster and you would not have to go through much of this :-)
Take care
Bye for now
