Oracle9iAS Infrastructure in HA
I want to put in HA the infrastructure of the Oracle9iAS, I followed the steps of an instructive of ORACLE "Oracle9iAS Infrastructure: Improved Availability whit Hardware Cluster" for HP-UX, which uses a method "Library Interpositioning" for setup a virtual hostname.
But I don't work.
When making the tests with the routines hostname32.exe and hostname 64.exe (provided by oracle for the test), these they continue returning the physical host name.
has somebody experienced the same thing?, and as I solve it?
Thank you

Re: Oracle9iAS Infrastructure in HA
Verify use of DNS for hostname resolution to begin with. Check your /etc/nsswitch.conf file:
hosts: files [NOTFOUND=continue UNAVAIL=continue] dns
And when you 'nslookup hostname' it should report checking DNS and not files.
Also, is this 'HTTP error code 400'?
What is the 'hostname:port'? Is it open in /etc/services? I believe it should be port 4000.
lsof -i tcp:4000
lsof -i udp:4000
