Outlook Express 6 (XP) Changes Server Details by Itself?
Since upgrading to XP and OE6 I find that OE changes my server login strings
eg my server is pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com.
I login with my email address xxxxxx.xxxxx@sbcglobal.yahoo.com and evrything works.
Shut the system down, and when I come back email does not connect. Check the Accounts Tab and my server string has been changed to
"LocalHost" and my loging ID is changed to
xxxxxx.xxxxx@sbcglobal.yahoo.com/pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com which DOES NOT WORK!!
Anyone know why XP+OE6 does this, and how do I stop it??
Thanks

Re: Outlook Express 6 (XP) Changes Server Details by Itself?
Hi,
Antivirus programs e.g. PCcillin's POP3Trap.exe does this to intercept the emails before virus checking.
If there is a problem check your Antivirus website for FAQ's.

Jerome hit it.
If you have PC-cillin, upgrade to 2003 version.
I have PC-cillin and the same thing happened to me a few times when I was using their version 6. I upgraded to PC-cillin 2003 and have no problems.
