I am trying to set up the outlook client on my machine to work with the openmail server we have. I am running into some problems and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for some specific documentation on how to do this.....or even steps to do this. We have been using the Omgui client but now want to try using outlook. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (we have a unix server with openmail 5.1 currently but will be upgrading to 7.0 in the next month or so). We just want to see if we can get this working. I know its possible somehow.
Thanks

Re: Outlook client with Openmail Server
The OpenMail MAPI Service Providers documentation for version 5.40 and earlier can be found at the following link:
http://www.openmail.com/cyc/om/00/100-1330.dir/CTGE/CTGETOC.HTM
The 6.00 documentation can be found here:

The client software can be found on the OpenMail 7.0 CD or can be downloaded from the OpenMail web site.

Solution
To get this to work, you need a "mapi" driver, the early versions of which will be on your Client CD set. This should be installed on your PC. Then when you create a profile, under Control Panel, Mail, you should see the option for Openmail (with server store). Select this, and fill in the details of account name, Openmail server and password. Then when you start Outlook, you should have the choice of logging onto Openmail.
There are quite a lot of issues surrounding the use of the mapi drivers. If you have more questions, just ask away.
