PowerPoint Recovery failed
Yesterday, Windows crashed on my computer (due to Euroglot...) and I didn't save my PowerPoint-document (I know, how stupid!!! but normally I do). When I rebooted en restarted PowerPoint, the Recovery runs but I can't recover my auto-saved document... When I click "Open" or "Save As" or after double clicking, Powerpoint starts opening the file ("PowerPoint is opening ppt24.tmp") but then suddenly stops. I get no error messages, but the file won't open. The recovered document is still in the "Available Files" recovery list.
Anybody? :-(
greetings

Re: PowerPoint Recovery failed
1. Open a new presentation, then select Insert, Slides from outline, change the file types to All Files(*.*), then browse to the recovery file. See if it will "import" the contents.
or.
2. Try the demo repair tool from the below site:
http://www.officerecovery.com/powerpoint/index.htm
You may want to run the repair on a COPY of the Autosave file (just in case).

Re: PowerPoint Recovery failed
the second one is something i tried already, but alas... powerpointrecovery doesn't return a good result at all in my case.
your first solution is something new. i just tried it, but then i get a "PowerPoint can't open the type of file represented by (...)." error.
i guess my ppt is corrupt at all... :(
tnx anyway!

Re: PowerPoint Recovery failed
They provide LOTS of different ways to attempt to recover a presentation.

Good luck!

Re: PowerPoint Recovery failed
