Print UNIX to NT

Hi,

how can i do to print UNIX files to printer in Windows2000

You will need to set the printer up as a remote printer on the HPUX side.
SAM will help you do this..

You will need a queue name from the HP side and you will need to know what the IP is of the 2000 server and the printer name connected to it.

You can do it through sam. Run sam,

Printers and plotters----> LP spooler----> printers and plotters---->
Actions---> Add remote printer

You can setup a remote printer thro SAM and you should know the IPaddress and printer name on the NT server.

There are many ways to do it :

1. Set up the printer as remote printer using SAM.

2. Ftp files to the PC and then print them after importing them as a document file or excell sheet.

3, You can send the file as an attachemnt to the mail and them open it and print it .

Yes, it's OK to SAM, but i put my IP adress and tne printer name HP but i havn't
my print.
I think to param a LPD in NT
It is exact but i don't know to do.

Hi,

pretty easy. First install the LPD Services on NT. These are part of the TCP/IP utilities.

Then simply configure a remote printer in HP-UX.

The Onlinehelp of Windows has detailed information. Search for lpq or lpd.

Hi,

This link tells you how to configure a printer connected to a NT server as a remote printer on hp-ux. once you follow the same steps on your win2k system, you should be able to configure the printer.
