Printers lose connections
I am running HP/UX 10.20 with JetAdmin. All of my connected printers are HP's (various models) The printers on my subnet work fine, the printers connected to a different subnet seem to "disappear" after a given time. I can't ping them, but the local person can still print via their NT system. I try to ping it from the DOS prompt and it seems to "wake it up" again and then I can ping from the HP again, and everything is fine and dandy. Right now I have a script in crontab just pinging to the printer every 15 minutes and it keeps it up and running - but of course I'd prefer to fix it permanetly. Any Ideas?

Re: Printers lose connections
This sounds more like a routing problem. Where you can't initially ping from the HP machine and your pc 'wakes up' the route suggests that the problem is somwhere in the network. I would present the same set of symptoms to your network people and see what they have to say.
