Printing Images from 10.20

I asked earlier about using SharedPrint/UX to print images.
HP Support Centre told me to use Tech Print Serv. I loaded this and found it is only for 10.30 and later.
So can anyone tell me how to print images from HP-UX 10.20 (or should I admit defeat and just FTP to PC network!)

Cheers

XV seems to be a good tool, we use it a lot here.

Re: Printing Images from 10.20

Hi

I have ImageMagick on a 10.20 workstation.

Very flexible with good man pages.

Image format converts.

Freely downloadable from the net.

Re: Printing Images from 10.20

The SharedPrint product has been discontinued. As an alternative, a new printing system, Technical Print Service (TPS), was introduced. While it is rather complicated to configure and is not a 1-to-1 feature match with SharedPrint, it does offer additional flexibility and includes drivers for several newer printer models. A new version of Imageview is required to work with this new printing system.
The new version of Imageview requires the use of CDE. It will not function correctly in VUE environment.

Install this list of products from a recent copy of HP-UX 10.20 application media. Both are typically found on disk 4 of the CD-ROM set.
B5357AA_ABA HP MPower//Web for Series 700 - English
B5360AA_APZ HP-UX Technical Image Printing Service
(For HP-UX 11.00 TechPrintServ is bundled with the HP-UX runtime on CoreOS)
Note: Codewords are not required for these products.

Apply patches for MPower and TechPrintServ products.
[PHSS_22757/PACHRDME/English] :MPower//Web:2.0:Imageprint:December:2000:
[PHSS_25757/PACHRDME/English] :TechPrintServ:Dec:2001:Periodic:
If a recent quality pack bundle has not been loaded, it is also recommended to load recent versions of patches for the X server, X11/Motif, and X11 font server. Suggested list:

[PHSS_17534/PACHRDME/English] :Font:server:X11R6:Jan:99:cumulative:
[PHSS_23555/PACHRDME/English] :Xserver:
[PHSS_25446/PACHRDME/English] :X/Motif:Runtime:OCT2001:Periodic:
Note: As with all patches, these may now be superseded. The ITRC
will have current patches listed in its database.

Enable and start the X11 font server.
/usr/sbin/ch_rc -a -p START_X_FONT_SERVER=1 /etc/rc.config.d/xfs
/sbin/init.d/xfs start'

Remove "/opt/image/bin" from $PATH. This is probably specified in the file "/etc/PATH" and should be deleted so the newer version of the executable is accessed. The install of B5357AA_ABA includes new versions of 'imageview' and 'imageprint' in directory "/opt/wt/bin", and this directory should have been added to the $PATH by the install.

Configure and enable TPS by following the detailed instructions in ITRC documents:

TPSKBAN00000272 Technical Print Service - Basic Configuration
TPSKBAN00000273 Technical Print Service - Advanced Configuration

Log out and log back into CDE
'echo $PATH' and confirm that "/opt/wt/bin" and not "/opt/image/bin" occurs in the output.
'xrdb -q | grep XpServerList' and verify that TPS is configured.
*XpServerList: myhostname:1
Execute 'imageview'
Selecting "Print" should launch the newer version of 'imageprint'
