Problem while starting Mysql server

I have moved the data directory of mysql from one one directory to other. Now I was not able to start the server. It is showing the following error message:

InnoDB: Error: auto-extending data file ./ibdata1 is of a different size
InnoDB: 64 pages (rounded down to MB) than specified in the .cnf file:
InnoDB: initial 640 pages, max 0 (relevant if non-zero) pages!
InnoDB: Could not open or create data files.
InnoDB: If you tried to add new data files, and it failed here,
InnoDB: you should now edit innodb_data_file_path in my.cnf back
InnoDB: to what it was, and remove the new ibdata files InnoDB created
InnoDB: in this failed attempt. InnoDB only wrote those files full of
InnoDB: zeros, but did not yet use them in any way. But be careful: do not
InnoDB: remove old data files which contain your precious data!

060422 9:15:46 InnoDB: Warning: shutting down a not properly started
InnoDB: or created database!

Please help me in resolving the same

Re: Problem while starting Mysql server

Did you do anything that it said ? Did you modify your '/etc/my.cnf' at all?

Did you modify the permissions on '/var/lib/mysql', or whatever 'innodb_data_file_path' is set to?

Verify that the owner of this directory is the same as what your MySQL server is running as. As it says, don't delete the old/original data files.

If in doubt, take a backup first.

Re: Problem while starting Mysql server

Shalom PRavenn,

You have probable corruption of a mysql database, or the mysql user no longer owns the database files.

Check permissions and latest backup because you may need to restore from it.
