Hello can somebody help me.
I want to make a ODBC connection with a Progress v9 database.
The MFG/PRO eB character based database runs on a HP UX 11.0 server.
On my XP-workstation I've defined a System DNS wich uses the DATADIRECT 4.10 Progress SQL92 v9.1E driver.
What do I have to do on my UNIX system to make a ODBC connection?
How do I have to start up the Progress DB-broker make a ODBC connection with this DB.
Thank,
Harrie

Re: Progress database connection by ODBC
Hi,
Sorry for this late post.
Attached you have a document with some FAQs about connecting an ODBC driver to a Progress.
Hope this will help you.
If you need more details, I have this connection in a customer site with Crystal Reports and Progress 9.1.D. Client operating system is Windows XP.
Regards,

Solution
Hi Harrie,
If you haven't read the ODBC FAQ that Julio posted this might save you some time.
Since you're on v9.1e, you don't need to do anything on the Unix system/DB startup to make this connection. The DB should support ODBC connections natively; unless you've specifically disallowed ODBC connections.
HTH,
Brad.

Re: Progress database connection by ODBC
The answer of Brad Kozak was right.
It is working under 9.1e
It is working under 9.1e
Why do it difficult when it can be done easy
