I think, that the only way for hp-ux to survive, is to be ported on x86. But even in this case i'm not sure that it will guarantee the result: i doubt that the software developers (let's be honest - generally it's (or will be) oracle, and we got the same problem as on itanium) will port their software on x86 just for use the hp-ux, because there's already solaris-x86 and, which is more significant - linux. So, the future of hp-ux is very unclear for me.
