Proliant ML350 G5
Hi I recently purchased a Proliant ML350 G5. I have failed to install SuSe Linux Enterprise Server 9 onto it. When I insert the Smartstart CD, there is no option for SuSe linux Enterprise Server 9 among the OS options. How do i overcome this?
Thanks

Re: Proliant ML350 G5
Your best option is to install directly from the SUSE CD without using smart start.
Check if the drivers/modules (storage/network) needed are available for Enterprise 9.

Re: Proliant ML350 G5
Hello,
ML350 G5 Supports only SmartStart Version 7.51, 7.6 & 7.7.
There is NO way to Overcome this as its not supported EVEN with the latest 7.8.
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12250_div/12250_div.html#Operating%20System%20and%20ProLiant%20Server%20Support
Only PSP supports SLES 9 & 10.
Also, refer:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/management/smartstart/serversupportmatrix.pdf
Installing Directly from the SUSE CD is the "ONLY" option.
Cheers !
James.

Re: Proliant ML350 G5
Thanks guys,
I tried installing directly from the SLES9 CD, but it reaches a point and says it can not find the hard disk.
Any help will be appreciated.
