Re: [Q] HP-UX Install issue...

from the uncompress errors, it looks like you may have faulty installation media. Do you have another CD that you can try?

I agree with Chris.
Everything up to that point look perfect for a cold install.

Re: [Q] HP-UX Install issue...

Hi,

Well, if the media installs OK on other systems, then I'd suspect the DVD drive.
Double check the cabling, swap the drive with another machine if you have one.
But it sure sounds like the drive is not responding properly.

Jeff

Re: [Q] HP-UX Install issue...

Hi,

I had a problem not too different to this before, it turned out to be a Hardware problem and a HP engineer fixed it be resetting the SCSI devices, I'm not sure how this is done.

If you are able to boot from some other partition try running insf and then try the install again.

Otherwise, you might need to place a hardware call with HP.

Hope this is of help,
Alan

Re: [Q] HP-UX Install issue...

Hi

Down the server and reseat all cables and dvd/cd drive.

Clean the dvd/cd drive.

Try again.

If this fails replace the dvd/cd drive or "borrow" from another server.
