Question about restarting prngd and sshd
Hi there --
We are running prngd 0.9.27 and sshd 3.6.1p2 on an HP-UX 11.00 system. The question I have is straight-forward:
What, if any, is the recommended schedule for restarting the two daemons in question? Thanks.

Re: Question about restarting prngd and sshd
Schedule? Why do you want to restart the daemons? They will run just fine forever or until you reboot, whichever comes first.

Re: Question about restarting prngd and sshd
If by "schedule" you mean "starting order", then it would be recommended to have prngd running before sshd is started.
If sshd is started first, it will determine that prngd is not useable and falls back to a much less efficient method of random number generation.

Re: Question about restarting prngd and sshd
Hi there --
I am investigating what appears to be a slow memory leak on the system. When I checked the log files, I noticed a reference to prngd not having enough space. I am not sure if that is the cause or a symptom.
I could go through the motions of stopping and stopping the prngd and ssh daemons, but before I do that I want to get feedback from people about them.
