Questions regarding 64 bit compatibility of DL360's, DL380's & DL385's.

l am speccing out the hardware requirements for a new project that my company is implementing, and l wish to ensure that the new G4 Dl360's and DL380's are fully 64 bit compliant.

l see that RedHat has certified them to be fully 64 bit compatible with their OS (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/hwcert/show.cgi?id=148885 and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/hwcert/show.cgi?id=148807), but wish to ensure that people here are not having issues running 64 bit RHEL 4.0 on them, and that the HPASM RPM's install fine.

Can anyone confirm this?

The DL385 has me very interested as l know that the opteron has been shown to be faster than Xeons in 64 OS mode.

Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have any benchmarks comparing the DL380 to the DL385?

Thanks in advance,

Alan

Hi AI,

I confirm that opteron faster than Xecon.
You can search following url for benchmark result.

Thanks Nick.

Would love to see the same benchmarks against the DL380. With the identical RAID controller the differnences shown by the benchmarks will really place the focus on the processor/MB/RAM combo's.
