REMOTE PRINTING OVER INTERNET

Hello,

I have a windows printer, which I acess over the internet via IPP.
The printer name on my windows server is
"PRGUY on http://xxx.xxx.xxx"
I put it between quotes because I can not modify this name.

How can I add this printer to my unix server is a remote printer? I don't know how to handle the blank in my printer name

Re: REMOTE PRINTING OVER INTERNET

Not possible with HP-UX. The printer's name is used in several areas of the spooler and the spaces simply won't work. This is an example of using naming conventions that are not portable across multiple operating systems. About the only thing you can do is to setup Unix lpr services on the PC and use it to relay the job to the remote printer.

Re: REMOTE PRINTING OVER INTERNET

If you must try it direct, you might want to play with cifs/9000 server on the hp-ux box.

I don't use it for printing, but you might be able to set up a cifs/9000 print queue and access it directly.
