RESTOREWIZ STOPS WORKING

I am also have RestoreWiz nightmares. I have been searching for a solution since Sept.'08. I have tried adding the extra zeros but this doesnt work. My restorewiz app stops working at about 50% of scan for restored files. I contacted HP tech support who told me NEVER EVER use HP software for backup always use Microsoft. WOW.
If anyone can help please help!!! All of my childrens pictures are lost in this one 2GB file.

Here is a link to an earlier HP forum thread on this issue. Lost os suggested solutions to try.
