RHEL AS on Itanium problem

Hi:

I'm testing one RHEL AS 3 for Itanium in my old zx2000, but X server crashes. I have one NVidia Quadro4 900 XGL. Somebody have the same problem?

Best regards,

Re: RHEL AS on Itanium problem

Have you try to download de nvidia drivers for your graphic card?

http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

Frank.
Linux?. Yes, of course.

Re: RHEL AS on Itanium problem

Thank you, but new problem:
"Error in check sums" when I try to install the driver. It seems like NVidia's problem.

Because I try download/install four times and doesn't work. :-(

Re: RHEL AS on Itanium problem

Hi Adriano,
When do you get the checksum error?

Is it when you execute sh driver.run, or at more avanced stage?

Frank.

Linux?. Yes, of course.

Re: RHEL AS on Itanium problem

Exactly when I run sh driver.run.

I finally can execute the script but report that the kernel and the module are not compatible and try to obtain a new kernel from NVidia site. Again unsucessfull. :-(

Re: RHEL AS on Itanium problem

If xconfigurator and hardware detection is not successful, you have two choices in my mind:

1) Get a different video card(http://partsurfer.hp.com)

2) Get drivers from the card builder.

Did you check with HP's website with regards to RHEL AS 3 support on thix box. If its not supported, my advice is forget about it.

Re: RHEL AS on Itanium problem

THe video driver is at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=82076&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=82074&prodTypeId=12454&swEnvOID=1100

Fairly simple search on the HP website. Posted April 2004.

Also on the same site - EFI "BIOS"
