RX4640 Add a boot option from OS on 11.31?

I've mirrored my alt disk mech and my setboot is set correctly. Can I add my alternate boot option from my OS while I'm booted without having to reboot to add the boot option from the EFI?

Riaz , u can always do this , just do the the following

#setboot -h -a -b on

#setboot

to check

this will update the EFI Variables accordingly and u do not need a reboot
