RX6600 server performance very slow

hi frenz one of RX6600 server performance very slow.

If anybody tell me what is command to diagnostic the server or is there any other way to check performance .

Hi,

For CPU
#sar -Mu 5 20

For Memory
#vmstat -n 5 20

For Network Errors
#netstat -s -n

For Disk bottleneck
#sar -d 5 20

well a description more than "very slow" would be a good starting point...

what's "very slow" - an application on the server? every command you type in at the prompt?

we're not mind readers - the more information you provide the higher the chance someone can help.

Hi Shattia,

Lots and lots of things to be taken care of here...memory, disks, cpu etc.

- For initial troubleshooting check if the problem started after making installing/changing any software etc.
- If the problem occurs some specific FS
- Any messages in syslog.log or dmesg.

It's CPU performance, we not install any softwre before and after.

Never fear, there is a plan.

You can run top, and try and see if there is a single process hammering your system.

You can run glance/gpm and also try and identify the problem.

You can run a full diagnostic according to the script in this article:

You can try the Quest Spotlight On UNIX as well. Spotlight have easy graphical interface.

CPU performance as measured how exactly? A few other things to include:

*) which processors do you have in the system? (machinfo)

*) how much memory do you have in the system?

*) which revision of HP-UX are you running?
