Re : MSA1000 configure help???
Hi Guys,
Can anyone advance with steps how I can get my MSA1000 to be configure to share between a N4000 and a RP7400. The servers are running on hpux11i and currently there is a fibre card A6795A attach on each server. I manage to configure the unit to raid 0 on the MSA through CLI. But, when I do a ioscan i can see all the disk with no_hw and that is not what I have planned. I would like to have disk101 - disk103 to N4000 and disk108 - disk 112 to rp7400 Pls advice???
Attaxh is the log for your referrence??

Re: Re : MSA1000 configure help???
Prior to connecting the second machine, see that the firmware has been updated to 4.48 or better. See the itrc firmware database for that and instructions on how to install.
And while you are at it consider updating your low point assignment ratio.
Good Luck,

Re: Re : MSA1000 configure help???
Hi,
Fromt he attached configuration, it seems that the host mode is not set for HP-UX host. The host mode is nothing but the "Connection Profile Name". It is currently set to "Default".
Since you are connecting HP-UX hosts againts those Host WWNNs, you need to set the conection profile to "HP". As indicated under "HP" profile, MSA 1000 uses "VSA" addressing mode for HP-UX host.
Changing the profile to "HP" should allow the LUNs created available to repsective HP servers.
Refer following document for changing the profile on page 155.
